PDF Merge

Merge several PDF files into one in your browser. Reorder the files, pick pages from each and download the result.

Drop or choose PDF files – they stay on your device.

Your files and input never leave your browser – nothing is uploaded.

Drop PDF files here
or click, or press Enter, to choose files. You can choose several at once.

Up to 100 files, 300 MB per file and 500 MB in total. The files are read in your browser and are not uploaded.

Files to merge

No files yet. Add at least two PDF files.

The result follows the order of this list. Each file adds its pages in the order you type them.

Three scans, a cover letter and a signed last page have to reach a customer as one attachment. To merge PDF files here, drop all of them on the page, fix the order and press the merge button. You get one new PDF to download.

Five steps from a pile of files to one PDF

  1. Drop the files on the drop zone, or press Enter on it to open the file picker. Add more files appends to the list later.
  2. Check the order. The arrow buttons move a file up or down. Sort by name compares numbers as numbers, so scan2.pdf comes before scan10.pdf.
  3. Optional: type pages into the field of a file, for example 1-3, 5. An empty field takes every page. 8- means page 8 to the end, and 5-3 gives 5, 4, 3.
  4. Press Merge PDFs. It works once two or more files are ready and no file shows an error.
  5. Press the download button. One file name for all inputs gives name_merged.pdf. Different names give merged.pdf.

What the new file keeps, and what it leaves behind

Pages arrive with their content, their size and their rotation. Links that point to a web address stay clickable. We checked these with test files. We also checked what does not survive: bookmarks, the document title and fillable form fields are not copied.

The producer entry of the new file reads WebTools Pro. Other metadata of the sources is not copied.

Page order inside one file

A page field does more than cut. Type 3, 1 and page 3 comes first. Type 2, 2 and you get page 2 twice. That helps when a signature page has to appear in two places, or when a scanner delivered the sheets backwards.

Encrypted sources and the password field

A PDF with a password gets its own field in the list. Type the password and press Open file. The password stays in memory until you remove the file or reload the page. The result is not encrypted and carries none of the permission limits of the source, such as a ban on printing. Use this only for files you may open and copy.

Size limits and files that fail

One run takes up to 100 files, 300 MB per file and 500 MB in total. A file over a limit is not read at all, and a message names it. The tool looks for %PDF- in the first 1,024 bytes, so a renamed text file is rejected and a damaged file gets an error row. The merge button stays off until you remove such rows.

All files sit in memory while you work.

Where the bytes go

The files are read with the browser File API and merged on your device. The page sends none of them anywhere. The PDF library is a script that loads from this site when you add the first file, and you can watch that in the network panel of your browser. The download is a file made in memory. Clear all and the remove buttons drop the files from memory.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Yes. Type the pages into the field of that file, for example 1-3, 5. The pages come in the order you type them, and a page can appear twice.
